Linkscrub Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 September 2026 · applies to Linkscrub 1.1 and later
Linkscrub is built so that this policy can be short and honest.
What we collect
Nothing. Linkscrub does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It makes no network requests and contains no analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
What stays on your device
Linkscrub processes the URL of the page you're on, a link you right-click, or a link you paste into its popup, entirely on your own device and only when you invoke it, in order to remove tracking. When a link is a tracking redirect, Linkscrub reads the real destination written inside the link; it never visits the redirect page.
Your settings (any custom parameters you add and any sites you allowlist) are saved using your browser's built-in extension storage. If you have browser sync enabled, your browser may sync those settings across your own devices through your browser account. This data is never sent to the developer or to any third party.
Permissions
Linkscrub uses the minimum permissions needed for its single purpose (activeTab, scripting, contextMenus, storage) and requests no host permissions. It cannot read your browsing history.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page and the "Last updated" date revised.
